    Hi again,

I've got the Jellyfin Server running on my Linux laptop (Zorin, current distro) and can connect with our Android phones, as well as through our smart TV (and our dumb TVs running Fire Sticks). What it will NOT do, however, is connect through Windows 11 to the Jellyfin Media Player on ANY of our Windows machines. I thought to update Windows and did that 2 days ago. Still no joy with the Jellyfin Media Player, however. I've attached a JPG with the error I get below. I hope someone can help me. The server is running great and I can connect with everything except Windows.

    Thanks for the help!

    Intel i3 12100
    Intel Arc A380

Hi, thanks for the help. I have the latest version (I assume - 1.11.1 - that's the latest according to the distro page). I downloaded it 2 days ago and it won't connect. The server works fine and, as I said, we can connect through everything except the Win machines.

Is the server on the same LAN as the PC running Jellyfin Media Player? If so, you should be using the private LAN IP and not your public IP.

Yes, it's on the same LAN but neither the public nor private IP work. I've tried both. I get the same word message no matter what I try.

A new version has been released, featuring a variety of bug fixes. Have you had a chance to try it yet?

Hi, thanks. Yes, I have the latest version installed. I just did that. I still get the same error.

Open a command prompt and try to ping the LAN IP of your jellyfin server.

Also, is your PC connected to a different access point? Or a different mesh node if you have a mesh WIFI setup?

    Hi again,

Okay, I did the ping using the IP address the Jellyfin Player shows underneath the Host filed. I get "Destination host unreachable" so I don't know what to think. I tried pinging 127.0.0.1 and that works fine. As to your other questions, I am not trying to connect to a different access point, to the best of my knowledge, nor do I have a mesh WIFI setup. The server works fine on my Linux machine and I can access the database with no problem through my TVs. It is only through Windows 11 that I cannot access on any of our computers.

127.0.0.1 = localhost, aka the same computer you are running the command on. So, yes, that ping would work.

Since you can't ping the LAN IP of the server from Windows, that eliminates Jellyfin and Jellyfin Media Player as the problem.

Is the local network set to "Private" on the Windows clients? I don't THINK this should matter as a client, but let's eliminate that as a factor.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...%20private

Other than the fact that all the problem devices run Windows, do they share any other commonalities? You said you don't have multiple access points, but do you have a guest WiFi network? Are ALL wireless devices, including the TVs and phones, connected to the same WiFi SSID?

    Definitely a strange problem.
