Hi y'all,
I have some movies that [don't discuss media acquisition] are very old—I practically thought they were lost media. These files are in MKV format, with a resolution of 480p or 720p, and use MP3 audio codecs. Additionally, the video bitrate is low, and overall, the quality isn’t optimal.
Here’s my question: Does the lack of a lossless rip affect trickplay functionality? That is, since these files don’t have segments or chapters embedded, could that be why trickplay doesn’t work properly? For example, I have other movies ripped directly from Blu-ray (some almost 70 GB in size) that also don’t show trickplay segments, while others work just fine. Honestly, I find it quite strange.
I’m not sure if I’m explaining myself clearly, but I wanted to ask about it.
Regards!
