Unable to control with Fire Stick remote

I have just installed Jellyfin on my Amazon Fire Stick using the official APK from the github releases page. It found my server and I logged in OK, and I see my libraries.

However now I can't actually navigate anywhere on the page with the Fire Stick remote. The arrow buttons don't do anything, except that if I press and hold the main page will scroll up and down. I can't use the arrows to navigate to a specific title. Enter will open a title and return will return, but I can't navigate. The TV remote will scroll a little bit too (via HDMI-CEC) but not let me select items either.

There's a message at the bottom of the screen saying "Please disable battery optimizations for media playback while the screen is off" with an OK button, which I'm unable to dismiss because I can't reach the OK button. (And the Fire Stick doesn't have a battery and I don't know of a way to disable that optimization.)

We have two apps, one for phones and one for TV. It looks like you installed the mobile app on your TV! You want to use "Jellyfin for Android TV": https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv
