    Play and Resume not working on Android TV

    Accessibility settings preventing Play or Resume from working on Android TV

    I recently started having issues with Play and Resume Play working when pressed. I tried stopping the Jellyfin app, clearing data and cache, rebooting my Nvidia shield and Chromecast nothing working. I did also notice each time I rebooted when I was having this issue an aftermarket launcher I use would stop working. This after market launcher requires Accessibility settings in Android TV to be turned on.

    To troubleshoot this, I turned off Accessibility settings on each of the apps that required it to be on to work, rebooted and Play and Resume Play worked. Enabled the setting on these apps and rebooted and it works for about a day, I disabled that setting and rebooted and was able to get it working again. I haven't had the issue again since having Accessibility settings disabled for those apps.

    There was a recent update for Jellyfin for Android TV that I applied hoping it would fix the issue, no go.

    The apps I use that require Accessibility settings to be enabled are:
    • Projectivy Launcher
    • tvQuick Actions - Button Remapper

    I prefer the Projectivy launcher over the native Android TV launcher to eliminate the ads and for better organization. I also use tvQuick Actions app to remap the Netflix button to apps I actually use. I would like to be able to continue to use these featured without having to go through the workaround of turning off Accessibility settings and rebooting, then enabling Accessibility settings each time Play and Resume play stops working. 

    Has anyone else had this issue, or have a few workarounds to try to fix this more permanently?
