    Hello,

I'm not sure what has happened.  I had jellyfin working on several kodi installs.  I had to change modems, so it changed the IP  address of my jellyfin server.  So now my Kodi installs won't access it.  So i tried reinstalling on one and when i go to connect to server on Kodi it does not come up with server name.  I try entering the IP address manually

    192.168.2.xx:8096

    unable to connect

    What am i doing wrong?

It this all on your local home network (LAN)?

Are you able to access your JF server from other methods, like a JF app on your phone, a web browser or JF desktop app on another computer? Something like that?

From my experience using JF as the back-end for Kodi clients when you make any changes to your JF side, including IP changes, it's best just to nuke all the JF portions of the Kodi installs and start over from scratch. Unfortunately the 2 systems aren't a seemless interconnect.

But when they work together they make such sweet sweet wonderful love!

yes, it is all on my LAN. I cannot access it from browser on phone. Nothing has changed on laptop (server) except it now has a different IP address. on my Kodi instance (firestick) I uninstalled jellyfin and reinstalled, still no go.

You should be able to access your server over your LAN easy so that's the first thing I would check. It doesn't sound like a Kodi specific issue, as you can't access your JF from your phone or any other device as well. It sounds like a networking issue.

I'm not a networking expert, just a user who's had to do previous trouble shooting, but Id check your new router has the proper ports opened. If you are using the default JF 8096 port it is likely that your new router has that closed which is essentially like locking your front door and someone trying to open it without a key.
