Hi,
I have a frustrating problem that I can't figure out how to solve.
I'm running Jellyfin 10.10.7 on a Mac M1, with NextPVR running on the same device making use of the NextPVR TV plugin for Live TV. NPVR uses HDHR tuners as its sources.
For my clients, I use Roku devices (as they have a nicer EPG implementation than the Android TV app). I use NPVR for a couple of reasons (one of which being that my tuners seem to occasionally drop into an idle state and NPVR does a good job of keeping them primed).
My challenge is that I have a number of SD channels that render in 4:3 aspect ratio, despite, in many cases, the stream being 16:9 format.
This is almost certainly an issue further up the chain in my setup, but I can't figure out a safe way to force the stream into a 16:9 ratio. Unfortunately the Roku 'channel' doesn't have an option for adjusting the aspect ratio in the client or during playback, and I can't find a place to amend the channel metadata in NPVR.
The SD channels are always transcoded by Jellyfin for one reason or another, so I figured I could amend the transcode options. However, I can't figure out how to add a transcode profile, or amend ffmpeg flags on the Mac installation.
Is this a problem anyone else has tackled? All the ChatGPT suggestions appear to be hallucinations
Thanks,
Lou
