Trying to play audiobooks via Android Auto and failing

I just put audiobooks on Jellyfin and they work when playing through my phone. However, I usually listen to them in the car with Android Auto. If I start the audiobook in my Jellyfin app it will play through my car speakers but it shows "No items" on my car screen, so I don't have any way to pause or control the audio playback.

Any ideas for how to fix this?

The Android Auto integration does not (yet) support audiobooks.

"Not yet" is a funny way of saying it's probably not gonna happen anytime soon. There is an issue open for this since 2020.
I would also love to see that feature.
