    Hello,

I’m experiencing a problem with transcoding using an RTX 5060 (rebar , above 4g enabled).

    Setup:
    • nvidia-drivers-580-server-open
    • nvidia-toolkit
    • jellyfin docker 10.10.7

The GPU is passed to the container with --gpus=all, and NVENC hardware acceleration is enabled. Everything works fine when transcoding normally. However, whenever I skip forward (e.g., to the middle of a movie), the playback freezes: Jellyfin takes about 10–15 seconds “thinking,” then pauses the stream. After that, nothing happens, even if I press play again.

Could you please help me figure out what’s wrong?

If logs or any additional information are needed, I’ll be happy to provide them. I was hoping this setup would be the ultimate solution for me, but right now I feel a bit disappointed—either due to my own misconfiguration or some limitation with NVENC.

    I’d really appreciate your help.

    Thank you in advance!

If the client is a desktop browser, you can open the console log using F12 and observe whether there are any errors related to the HLS player recorded there after seeking the video.
