    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up a new folder structure for my TV series, like this:

    - TV Shows
      -- Year
        --- TV Show Name (Year)
    ---- Season 01
----- TV Show Name (Year) - s01e01 - title .mkv

However, the TV series isn't being recognized.
I absolutely need this folder structure.

    hello,

    regards !

Unfortunately, no—it doesn't work well for every scenario.
Everyone has different needs. Initially, I used to do it the same way you do, but I have specific issues and need to force recognition in the manner I described: I have to place a TV series inside its respective year folder.

Having a main "TV Shows" folder containing all series inside it slows down loading significantly for users like me who have over 2,000 TV series. This slowdown affects everything else too—streaming performance, media recognition, and so on.

I've been using this approach with Plex for quite some time now and immediately noticed the benefits. The same applies to Emby. Jellyfin, however, is so poorly designed that it still can't improve media identification... It's really disappointing!
