    Hi there,
I hope you can help me because I haven't found another thread with a similar error after upgrading to 10.11. The upgrade when smooth sailing, but now I am unable to play movies as the player returns "

Playback Error - Playback failed because the media is not supported by the client

However, on the previous version everything went smooth. I guess it's something about the ffmpeg7.
    • The version of Jellyfin you are running (e.g. 10.8.10)
      10.11.0
    • Your installation method and platform (e.g. Linux Docker, Debian repository, Windows installer, etc.)
Linux LXC container (Ubuntu 24) with pass-through of Intel iGPU (went smooth on the previous version via VAAPI).
      CPU is i3 8100-T
    • A brief description of the issue as your thread subject, using the description for additional important context only if required
After upgrade to 10.11.0 the player returns  Playback Error - Playback failed because the media is not supported by the client when I want to play certain media.
    • What client(s) you are using and how the issue manifests
It's apparently not client specific. I used the web client and the android client. same behaviour.
    • Any other context you might think is relevant
I use an LXC container with iGPU pass-through. My gut feeling is that it has something to with the ffmpeg encoding.

Can't be of much help, but
I get this error with the official Android app only.
But if I use an other app like Fladder or Jelliflix... it works. FireTv Android app and Web is working too.
I have mostly the same scenario as you. (proxmox) LXC Container with iGPU passthrough (AMD) on ubuntu 22.04 container (upgraded to 24.04 with Jellyfin 10.11.0 from 10.10.7).

Would be nice to know if you use the Android App too
