When watching anything via the Jellyfin desktop client, my computer's CPU spikes to >90% and stutters like crazy. This happens even though the stream is direct playing without transcoding (according to Playback Info), no subtitles just standard HEVC and AAC codecs. There is no increase in server-side CPU usage when this happens. This issue does not occur when streaming to my LG smartTV running Jellyfin for WebOS 10.10.7 (direct streams with no need for server-side transcoding). This issue is not present if I use the web client (Firefox), but the CPU usage on TrueNAS does jump to about 25% because the web client requires transcoding.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Additional info:
Jellyfin Server: 10.11.0 (running as app in TrueNAS Scale version 25.04.2.4)
Jellyfin Desktop Client: (Jellyfin Media Player 1.12.0 installed via flatpak)
Desktop PC is running Kubuntu (Ubuntu 25.04). AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 32GB RAM.
Also at one point a bunch of black lines appeared all over the video (see attached screenshot). Not sure if that's a clue, as I haven't been able to reproduce it.
