The media server is on my PC 192.168.0.60 and my TV is on 192.168.0.7
On the PC I connected to http://localhost:8096/ and from there I installed the DLNA plugin successfully.
In my firewall (Avast) I opened TCP ports 8096 and 8920 and UDP ports 1900 and 7359.
When I start the Jellyfin app, the TV shows up in the dashboard under Devices connected via DLNA (as opposed to connected via Jellyfin Web). So far so good. However the TV never appears in the list when I actually click on Devices, which I find odd. From the app, I can successfully send video from the server to the TV via DLNA - some videos don't play but that's another story.
My main issue is that when using the TV, in the server list, Jellyfin server doesn't show up at all, even when my firewall is turned OFF, so I can't access my media using the TV remote. The same TV can see the other media servers I have installed like Plex and Windows Media Player and Universal Media server without problems. It's only Jellyfin it can't see. Basically I'm stuck with having to use the PC app to start the movies I want to watch on TV.
