Too bad 10.11.0 did not resolve EPG collecting problem. I have not tested for myself. It was broke when I first setup Jellyfin about a year ago. I'm running it on a RPI 5 with Debian and have been happy with it. I too, had to learn what XMLTV and it's grabbers even were. I have a moderate level in shell scripting which proved to be very usefull. I read so much garbage on the internet. I was able to write a script to update my EPG data using crontab job.
Now, here's the secret I just don't see mentioned here: ChatGPT
I now have  knowlege I would have spent countless hours on the internet to find. And it's help in refining my scripts has been amazing. Just having an idea of what you want is enough. Be sure to help it zero in on the answers you want. Provide all specifics you can: hardware you use, OS you have on it, anything you have done so far (installed Jellyfin, path names you use for it like /pimedia for external media drive. etc) You'll see it giving  answers that can be more specific, and all you have to do is tell it the missing specifics.
    Have fun, I did.
I added a PDF of the email I receive when this thing runs. Yeah, I'm bragging a bit, but most of the credit goes to ChatGPT

This issue is affecting me too. I know this is a volunteer group, and thank you. I'l like to +1 for getting JellyFin Live TV EPG and SchedulesDirect working.

Right, I was trying to fix this using Claude Code but I'm fully done now, once and for all and no going back.

I had made progress and even managed to get it basically working - the EPG was being constructed correctly, rate limits were working for Schedules Direct, image caching was working and even image deduplication was working - the last test run only downloaded 780 images for around 14,000 programs.

The one stumbling block was getting it to fix the image downloading as it kept getting it wrong. Long story short, the last test run had full image population but with the wrong images. It tried to fix that and just broke it.

I tried to get it back to the point it was working and ended up getting locked out of the chat session with a "model not available" error.

I had a couple of session summaries I fed to a new chat session who decided that, based on those, the project was "finished and production ready" which it clearly wasn't and that was it for me, the final straw.

I've got my own custom python script that you can see in the other thread and this works flawlessly and gives me full EPG population for 8 days with full DVR capability as well so I'm just going to stick with that.

If any of the Jellyfin devs do actually read this, please know I have huge respect for the work you do for no money and thank you for such an awesome thing.
