I have had a heck of a time finding a media server for linux mint and then configuring etc... Getting libraries to work, permissions, groups, users right... ugh, for an old geezer new to linux it has and still is a journey lol... but, i not giving up yet..
I am still having trouble with libraries, especially books.... for some reason books won't display on players even though they are generic pdf files which is the default and oldest format for sharing documents... weird..
But, lately the player is different on almost every device.
It is weird... I have samsung os, samsung tv's, not sure if they are linux or android, but i have roku devices, i have onn googletv device, both the hd version and the 4k pro version. and also the lg webos.
The player is different on allot of these. Sometimes they add the books media library and others don't. But the only one that displays it and allows to read anything is on the samsung 24 ultra which uses same app as the googletv... weird...
On some player it does not show books library at ll. On some it will have a folders library where you can browse the different folders. Which in turn may let you see movies and shows etc or pdf in the books etc. while on others it does not.
I am totally confused here, They should be all the players the same right... I have tried uninstalling the apps and closing turning off tv etc and rebooting and then reinstall the app.
but none of that works...
been serving thru linux mint... I have tried both brave browser and or firefox browser...
is there an actual jellyfin software stand alone to possibly try...
I am confused why it not displaying all the libraries and why some won't play and others well... fast network with no need to recode anything...
If someone could offer some help would really appreciate it... the not showing the Books folder or library and not reading the pdf files is a real pain, i need to be able to read on big screen without have to cast, which is a pain and hard to control.
anyway, any help getting these minor things figured out i would appreciate it...
