Ah, okay! I'll set about updating the server then; thank you very much. Interesting that the router reset triggered the app to recognize what was up, but stranger things have happened; maybe the connection was cached and persisted from a time before the Android app dropped support, so it didn't validate it again until the Synology's IP address changed.
