Thanks for the response. So no good to use windows then. Would I have better luck with Jellyfin player in Linux? As far as I'm aware HDR isn't supported in Linux either.
If I want to play 4k HDR 7.1 bluray rips what is my best client option?
you are quite right about linux as well, x86* in general
the only devices i know for a fact that will do proper HDR up to HDR10+ is android, with the bonus that most can also do Dolby Vision
i used FireTV Cube for years, it works
i replaced with Zidoo Z9X Pro, it works better but requires a fork to work with jellyfin
CoreELEC can do it but that still requires an android device (amlogic based)
i don't think apple devices work but that's not a fact more of an impression i get, never owned one
