What kind of hardware should I buy for a homeserver setup?

Looking at a 9020 optiplex to leave online, if you know something better let me know.

There are a lot of surplus office Dell Optiplexes with 7th gen and newer Intel CPUs for cheap. Those are a good starter servers.
