a bit more of a question for the jellyfin people but i will give you my 3rd party unaffiliated answer
i too am retired from the tech sector but i also do not write code in dot net or java
what i have *tried to do is be available here on the forum to help users work through various issues they may be having (so they don't return to plex or w/e)
and provide sound advice instead of candy coating everything so that users get a real answer to a question
you may also find a way to help on any of the github issue pages if you have a workaround a developer could run with it and create a fix
