In 2020, another user @Anthony Lavado clearly commented to limit concurrent streams for users.
But rather what got implemented was limiting user logins which don't even force auto logout on device 1 when device 2 is being logged in.
JJ Chow says this to the developer which is completely true.
your implementation prevents concurrent session, not stream. & also it does not work. If an user has 2 session limit and those 2 sessions are active, he can not login for the 3rd time. but if he does not have those two session active then he can login on a new session and again go back to those 2 sessions [assuming remember me was marked]. now all three sessions are active and can stream from all 3 sessions even though the the limit is 2. like the op, I also need the stream limit.
Also, consider the following scenario with session limit set to 1: two TVs (amazon fire sticks in my case), the user is currently watching something on TV 1. To move to TV 2, the user currently has to sign out of the app on TV 1, then log into TV 2 before starting to watch on TV 2.
This is an unnecessary hassle for the user. Much better would be if the user only has to stop the stream on TV 1. This is extremely disappointing like as if the devs are not listening.
