CarPlay done well is pretty significant IMO.
Manet’s built from the ground up for Apple devices using Swift (better battery usage compared to Finamp and Fintunes the main iOS alternatives). In turn it has a UI which feels native to Apple's platform. I’ve used Finamp and Fintunes (both good in their own way, Finamp was my primary client for years before Manet), however using them is a lot like using MS Office on a Mac, functional but feel off due to their cross platform nature.
Manet is a gem that users should be able to easily discover. It’s a shame there are now such policies, I contributed for years on the JF subreddit and there was always demand for good iOS clients. Also worth bearing in mind the subscription for Manet is currently for trivial additions (app icons!) and the excellent existing functionality will always be free.
Quoting Manet’s release notes is useful for context (emphasis mine):
Quote:NOTE: Manet+ is an optional subscription for unlocking non-essential features inside the app. Everything that currently is available for free, will continue to be so.
Manet+ is a subscription that (for now) unlocks two custom app icons that you can change while also helping support the future development of the app. Manet+ also replaces the old "Support development" tip, offering something tangible in return for your support, which I believe enhances the overall experience for everyone.
We want Manet to remain a fantastic app for all Jellyfin music enthusiasts, whether you choose to subscribe to Manet+ or not.
