I wanted to update this post just in case anyone else finds this, and has the same issue.
I did not find a solution, and ultimately reverted back to the 10.8.13 version I was running.
Before I reverted back I did a complete fresh install, and with that Trickplay was able to be selected as expected. I ended up running into several issues with scanning my library, so I had to revert. I have cloned my docker environment so I can test as new releases are pushed out. This is a great application, and does more than I could ever imagine, and I am grateful to all those that contribute and make it possible.
