If you are buying an Nvidia GPU for transcoding, stick with 1000 series and newer (except the GT1030). They have MUCH better codec support.
Something else to consider, the 700 series driver updates were discontinued. Which means that the 900 series is next to be discontinued.
If your motherboard supports ACPI, idle power consumption won't be that high for Intel Arc.
