Findroid should properly render HDR if you DON'T use the MPV player.
That's a shame. You seem to know a lot more about this stuff than I do, any reason why that might be? Or when that might change? Hopefully it will eventually.
Findroid did indeed start to show HDR content properly, even if I miss out on transcoding (which would be nice to have but I can live without most of the time), so thank you!
Only problem is that it doesn't like Dolby Vision content. It just shows a black screen, while the audio still plays. I imagine this is where that one post I linked comes back into play, where my device can't play DV profile 7.6. I can switch to the MPV player in settings and that plays it with tone mapping, but then I lose HDR on everything else. Is there any way around this? I doubt it after reading that thread, but I want to make sure.
