SOLVED: Player error encountered. will re-try... Too many errors. Giving up.

I was able to fix it by doing the steps below. DD/DD+ now properly plays 5.1, unsupported audio now properly down mixes to Stereo. All video and audio types properly play without crashing.

Set Jellyfin
Settings > Playback > Advanced > Bitsream Dolby Digital Audio (Enable)

Set Fire Stick
Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Surround Sound > Dolby Digital (Enable)

Set TV - This will depend on your TV and sound system. But you need to configure your Audio out to use Dolby Digital. I have a Vizio TV with a Sonos Playbar and it uses Optical.
Settings > Audio > Digital Audio Out > Dolby D (Enable)
