Sorry, my mistake, the naming of the series is of course exactly as you suggested.

I created a "Series" library as a test.
If I copy the "SERIES" folder into it, everything works fine.
The series is recognized, metadata and images are also recognized without any problems.
Only in the library with "mixed films and series" there is still no difference, no metadata for the series
