Reporting bugs is not pointless if it is reproducible. Super weird edge cases or unique setups that the triage and dev teams can't replicate make it hard to fix those issues. Clear reproduction steps make it super easy to troubleshoot and fix.
Regarding OPs question, how are you even playing a recording in progress? I just gave it a try and I can watch the channel while it is recording, but I don't see a recording-in-progress to play. Only when the recording is done do I see the recording.
