Well it turns out the stalling videos are 30fps. If both videos are 24fps sources the playback is smooth if you don't drag the progress bar.
I might explore some more lightweight way to do the tone mapping targeting 4K60 on such small GPU, but I have not decided the best approaches yet.
That makes sense. In fact the more popular UHD630 iGPU has the same difficulty, it is even worse because when the low-power encoder is turned off, the encoder needs to run media kernels (for motion estimation etc) on the GPU, which makes it perform even worse than the RK3588.
