Good idea but I'm afraid it didn't work. I cleared the cache and the app data.
Doing further tests, this problem is more widespread than I thought. At least half of the movies and shows I try exhibit this behavior with the seek bar locked and chapters not working. It is only a problem with the integrated player, the web player works fine. My problem with the web player and the reason I moved away from it, is it wants to automatically put media into full screen landscape mode instead of just keeping a smaller portrait version (I turn auto-rotate on my phone off). I don't want this behavior and that's why I use the integrated player.
edit: my wife has encountered this on her Android tablet as well, so it looks to be more than just my phone acting weird.
