I just registered for the same reason, and from my opinion the config about cache menu can easily let to this situation.
There is no way to create a new folder for cache in the setting window which opens when user choose to browse path, and that combine with this clean cache option can make a serious trouble.
For example, if I'd like to put cache next to media folder, like
/DB
/Movies
/Series
/JFCache(which is not created yet)
Then I'll have to select the /DB folder on web config menu rather than cache folder that can not be created by JF for a while, that's when all /DB get purged. I need to create the cache folder manually and when I navigate to /DB there's nothing left.
The key is it's reasonable for a user to choose the parent folder when cache folder is not created yet, therefore it faster to choose the right folder when it's created and easier to move exist cache files there, but with JF it becomes data catastrophe.
