I just started seeing the same problem "Playback Error Playback failed due to a fatal player error.".
But only when transcoding and only with Chrome browser on Windows 11.
The android app works fine.
As does Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
Chrome on Windows 10 works fine too.
When I processed videos using handbrake I included english subtitles.
My wife has hearing issues. If I have have subtitles on I get the error.
With subtitles off no error.
Subtitles on requires transcoding.
I have the latest jellyfin (10.10.6) and jellyfin-ffmpeg7 (7.0.2-9).
The Chrome version on Windows 10 and 11 is 133.0.6943.127.
I think I saw both jellyfin and jellyfin-ffmpeg7 upgraded in the last few days.
Also, Chrome.
I'm guessing one of those upgrades is causing the problem.
My jellyfin server is a Raspberry PI 4b.
I have not made any changes other upgrading packages with "apt upgrade".
I was using hardware acceleration. I turned it off no change
Please do not tell me I should not use a Raspberry PI 4b.
All my video's are compressed with handbrake.
Blu-Rays as 720p, no 4K, and most movies from DVD.
We never have more than 2 people transcoding at a time.
It has worked beautifully for us until now.
