I have a Google TV Streamer. Works great with AV1. I convert all my media to AV1+OPUS and it direct plays everything, except when I need ASS subs. But work is being done to add ASS subs support.
If you are using jellyfin-ffmpeg7 to convert your media to AV1, there is an automatic function to convert Dolby Vision 7 and 8 to plain HDR10 built into our custom ffmpeg. Since those DV profiles don't support AV1.
In terms of the overall user experience, the Google TV Streamer is a big upgrade over the CCwGTV 4K it replaced. Much more responsive and smoother UI.
Do keep in mind that the mediatek chipset it uses has a known driver bug when playing Dolby Vision. Since you are converting everything to AV1, that isn't an issue. But do keep that in mind.
