The problem with Debian back ports is that you also have to install a bunch of other things manually. IIRC, a lot of kernel module and header packages aren't automatically installed with the back port kernel. A lot of those are needed to kernel module and header packages are needed for Quick Sync to work. Plus having to manually downloading and installing a bunch of firmware from Intel's git.
I recall one user getting it to work, but it sounded like a pain.
