I'm assuming the videos are transcoding when watched in the browser? If so, this is a common issue since SRT subtitles are not burned in by default. Even if the video is transcoding. The remux command I specified in the thread you linked would help if the video was directly played by the browser.
There is a setting to burn in all subtitles when the video is transcoded, regardless if the client supports directly rendering the subtitles.
Settings > Subtitles > check "Always burn in subtitle when transcoding"
