Ok I didn't have a chance last night but I figured something out... if I set "bitrate limit" to something like 10mbps it forces transcoding and plays the movie just fine. If I have it set to something ridiculous like 30 mbps it doesn't transcode and stops when paused. I guess i can work around it this way but it is annoying that I bought the *better* roku for my 4k TV and the one that costs less than half has no issues - though on a 1080P tv so maybe it's transcoding already, I didn't check that one.
This is a freshly rebooted computer, jellyfin never accessed for the whole day. First attempt is "as-is" direct play and second one was after setting max bitrate to 10mbps. I was watching the GPU and it barely blipped on the first and pegged on the second. Here are my logs: https://privatebin.net/?67190b14a3389a3c...MdzTTjKmPG
So at least I have a resolution for the problem, forcing live transcoding of all media, I'd just rather have it direct play.
