I’m not certain, but I believe the answer is yes, as I don’t have any special setup that would allow for that, ie I’m not split tunneling.
I keep reading, and’s although I haven’t found anything describing what do do, from comments it sounds like my network/port forwarding conundrum could be solved by virtue of having the vpn. I’m imagining that would be a solution that would get my jellyfin server access both with the internal network and when away from home.
I’m not sure if I should be hopeful yet. But I’m not ready to give up on jellyfin.
