yes, there are a couple settings for it
audio output - direct or downmix to stereo
the latter gives aac 2.0, the former does what it's supposed to and sends it directly to the OS
second setting is 'bitstream DTS audio'
the issue i have is that FireOS is broken so enabling Direct on DTS* causes video freezing, this is not the case with TrueHD or EAC3
there is no change with Bitstream on or off
i compared to a different device with Android 11 and it plays DTS fine, thats where i decided it was FireOS
(the unrelated problem with that device is that it will not support dolby vision profile 7 so the android tv app will just report and error and fail)
so, what i thought might be an option is to transcode DTS to this client but i don't want to lose surround
