I ran into the same issue with sorting and viewing mixed photo and video folders. What worked for me was separating the libraries by type, but I also set up nixplay.com to loop family photos and short clips on a digital frame in the living room. It's synced from a shared folder, so I can just drop stuff in and it shows up without messing with Jellyfin’s video-first UI.
