Dusting this chain off as this seems to apply closest to my needs (lots of migration chains floating around).
My setup / current situation:
- Jellyfin Server on MacOS, no docker being used.
- Multiple Media libraries pointed to single NAS. For example: /Volumes/media/Movies & /Volumes/media/Shows
- NAS is running out of space and need to migrate half my library to a new unit.
- For this example, let's say that I'm migrating all of "Shows' folder.
- I want to migrate the media but leave everything within the Jellyfin library untouched (metadata, trickplay, custom tags, basically everything).
It sounds pretty simple but I wanted to confirm the specific steps and order, after copying the data from one NAS to another. For example:
1) Turn off "monitor in real time"
2) Add new NAS to path list of existing library
3) Scan Library
4) Remove older NAS path
I just wanted to confirm accuracy, order, and if I need to shutdown Jellyfin in there somewhere, etc. Also, between steps 3 & 4, I assume that all shows will show as duplicates? Do I even need this scan?
Thanks!
