Kodi can still access and write to its app storage on Android 11+ without root, including the special folder. You can move fonts there using a file manager like X-plore or Total Commander. I’ve confirmed this on multiple devices running Android 10, 11, and Google TV.
The Download folder, due to Android’s Scoped Storage changes, may require a workaround — but Kodi’s internal media folder is writable as described in the original post.
