I think I would agree with you. Those songs do not sound similar to me either. The are two main scenarios in this case.
1) The plugin is working, but the suggestion is off.
The model is not perfect, while it does work well most of the time from my experience, there are times that the recommended song seems kinda off. A quick way to confirm if the plugin is functioning correctly is to go to the configuration page, reduce the noise parameter to 0 and save. Then, create an “Instant Mix” of the same song twice, the generated playlist should be identical both of the times. The model seems to do better when there is a larger input (album Instant Mix instead of song), I will consider adding the option to sample multiple songs of the same artist as an input when using song Instant Mix to hopefully generate better results.
2) The plugin isn't working and it's falling back to the native functionality.
If you check the logs and find something like this: "BetterMix: Falling back to Native Instant Mix.", the plugin is not working properly. An error message would be printed before this message too. if this is the case, I would advice you to send the logs to me so I can investigate the issue further.
