I've been trying to fix this issue for many days now, and I believe it is a bug. Some of my music files are tagged either with mp3tag or musicbrainz picard and do 100% have correct multi-value album artist and artist fields. However Jellyfin while scanning the metadata of these files, appends some weird invisible characters to the featuring artists names that are only visible in an .nfo file. If I have other music files credited to those artists, it creates duplicate artists, one is normal, and the other has the weird characters at the start, and they are treated as different artists.
This is how the nfo file looks like for an album that's not fixed manually (with the weird characters)
And this one is fixed
The only way I found to fix it is to go manually edit the metadata in the Jellyfin Web UI for EACH FILE separately (and delete the invisible characters from the artists and album artists fields) and lock the metadata from changing. This is insanely time-consuming and tedious. There has to be some way for Jellyfin to read these tags properly the first time
I am running Jellyfin version 10.10.7 on a TrueNAS Scale machine
