As for 3D occupancy, this is a technical detail that users don't need to worry about. HDR-to-SDR tone-mapping shader is performed on the GPU renderer, not the video engine.
Ok well that answers my first question, if it's not implemented in JMP yet but is on the web client I guess I'll just stick to web for the time being. Now I'm curious why it's tone mapping though, is HDR support under Wayland also not yet implemented? Obviously HDR on Linux is a recent development so it wouldn't surprise me. Or is it that a very low bitrate will cause it to downgrade to SDR? I have tone mapping enabled but not forced, which to me sounds like it should maintain the HDR data when the client supports it.
