So I was correct, the JF for Kodi addon was struggling with Kodi 22 ALPHA. I rebuilt LibreELEC incorporating my UFS kernel changes into LE's 12.2 branch. JF for Kodi worked first time with this which runs Kodi 21.
I've been a long time user of both Kodi and JF but I much prefer Kodi's UI especially with the Aeon MQ9 Mod skin. I've only recently purchased the S100 as a little powerhouse of mobile compute to accompany me on my travels, it runs Win11 out of the box but now triple boots LE, Ubuntu and Win11. I was looking for a solution to library updates which seem to take an age in my home environment so JF for Kodi with the JF Kodi Sync Queue plugin really cut that out. I'm also keen to try the JF transcode option within Kodi when remote as this was another pain point.
FWIW I've also deployed a caddy proxy instance into the LE install so I can utilise proxy-to-proxy mTLS handshakes, for me this is enough security to do away with a VPN so just streamlines the experience a little more.
