If you move the movies from the main movies folder to a movies subfolder, then each folder doesn't have to be in the root directory:
c:\movies\movies\
c:\movies\christmas\
c:\movies\horror\
Then point each library to the correct path, and nothing is nested.
c:\movies\movies\

c:\movies\horror\
