After months of trying i finally read through the advanced guide on Mullvads website properly and was able to get remote access working while Mullvad was enabled

And scrolling down to "Allowing incoming traffic (for servers)"

Save the file as 'excludeTraffic.rules' then run the following command sudo nft -f excludeTraffic.rules
