Need assistance on choosing best setup to get hardware transcoding

I gotta go with the ARC card, they're beastly. It's the cheapest solution and will last you for a while as it's compatible with a wide variety of codecs. I run Ubuntu and installing the card was a breeze. I recently updated the firmware and it took me less than five minutes, but that part is optional and may not even apply to the card in question.
