For easy storage, find a desktop case that suits your needs.
The motherboard:
Find one with many sata ports
Consider lan port 2.5 Gb/s
pci-e for etc. Intel Arc A310 (low profile but great for transcoding)
Cpu Intel i3 as minimum
OS. I use Debian 13 headless, that reduces power consumption a lot and also ressources.
