Absolutely new at Jellyfin and hosting my own media servers, and I have no idea what half the technical stuff means, and I just need a guide on how to fix being unable to connect to my server.
Set up a Jellyfin server and put a few movies on it.
Tried to connect to the server using the Jellyfin app on my Roku TV, and it failed.
Try again on my Android phone, and it gives the same error message.
"Tried 2 candidates for input, without success.
Unable to reach server:
https://(Ipv4 address):8096
http://(Ipv4 address):8096"
I haven't messed much with the networking settings, but I changed the setting "Remote IP address filter mode" to blacklist. I am on an Ethernet cable, if that has any relation to what I'm unable to do. I tried to disable my firewall and allow Jellyfin to pass through it. I tried to change the local HTTP port number to see if that had any effect, and it didn't. I also considered using Tailscale, but with the way it seemed to work, I was unsure if I would be able to connect it to my TV, as it does not allow me to download Tailscale on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
