Interesting issue! Have you checked if Pokerogue uses similar hardware acceleration? The Pokerogue and Pokerogue Dex might list compatible configurations. It sounds like a VAAPI driver problem. Ensure your drivers are up-to-date and that VAAPI is correctly configured outside of the application. Also, check your logs for more detailed error messages regarding vaapi=amddev/dri/renderD128.
