Looks great! Can the tool be used to batch edit metadata (say, tags) for multiple files across different folders or does it only work for a given folder and its files/subfolders?

Through the graphical interface, only metadata for files in the same folder/library is available. But starting with version 1.2.2, you can also do this by exporting and importing metadata via CSV files - this way, you can use your favorite CSV editor to edit multiple files in different folders at once.

Does this application edit the metadata of the files directly, which is then read by Jellyfin?

Or does it edit the values within Jellyfin itself?

It edits the metadata and tags read by Jellyfin, not the files themselves. This is because we follow the same metadata management standard as Jellyfin.
